Oh my it's almost time!

Well, today I am 36 weeks pregnant. It went by so fast and now I'm starting to panic and wonder if I have everything I need and if I'm ready to be a mommy! I guess ready or not he's going to come so I'll just figure it out along the way and hope I don't screw little man up to much! I know what you all are thinking....how can she not feel like she's ready? She's had 9 whole months well this is what I say to you : P. Three of those months were taken up with Jason traveling for audition rotations and now we have the residency match coming up in 12 days! Needless to say out attention has been split between his future in the medical community and our future as a family. I know that I'm probably more prepared than I give myself credit for, but I'm still really anxious.

As I said Jason submitted his rank list last week for the residency match, so it is officially out of our hands. Ha like it ever was in our hands! Now on February 11th we will get a lovely email telling us if we have matched and if so where we will be moving our family to in May. I know that this is the moment that we have been working towards for the last 4 years, but I must admit I'm a little sad to be possibly leaving Ohio. I feel this way every time that we get ready to move on to the next stage in his schooling. Leaving Kirksville, MO was hard to (I know I'm crazy everyone else was running out of there after 2nd year and I was taking my time). I guess I always hope that the friends that I have made over the past two years keep in touch. Anyway.....soon we will know.

I have my last two week doctor appointment on Friday so I'll know more about how Little L is doing after that, but I do have to say he is still being an active little man. Recently his new favorite thing is to push on my side with his foot and just stretch out. Which I'm fine with for a little bit and then it starts to get uncomfortable, so I have started pushing back. It has turned into a little game of ours. Jason was able to feel his little foot the other night too and thought that was pretty crazy, and a little strange. He doesn't realize that I go everyday with that happening to me though. The end of my pregnancy overall has gone pretty well. Other than the usual aches and pains that every pregnant woman I guess is subjected to (which I  have to rant a second is so unfair our bodies are changing enough don't we get to have a pass on the ache part of it I mean really come on!), the waking up 2-3 times a night to pee, and the slight swelling in my hands and legs, I am doing great. I am ready for him to finally be here and to see who he looks more like, and to get to know his personality. However, on the flip side I am going to miss having him in my belly knowing he's safe and feeling him move around. New adventures I guess!

I'll let you all know how the Dr.'s appointment goes on Friday and if there are any changes. Oh yeah I almost forgot go 49ers! Jason would have been upset if I didn't put that in there.

In the home stretch....

Well, it's hard to believe that Jason and I are in our last month of our pregnancy...well I guess technically I have 6 weeks to go if I go full term. Jason has been busy with ICU so he hasn't been able to come to the last two doctors appointments, but thankfully next week is his last week and then he switches to Family Practice. He thinks that it will be a lot easier to get out of a little of his time at the office so that way he can come to these last few appointments with me...which I would appreciate.

Anyway, we had our appointment yesterday. Little L's heart rate was 132...he was resting as he should be with how active he was all day with me teaching. The big news of the day was that he finally flipped in the right direction! For a while now he had been laying transverse which means his head was in my left ribs and his bum was in my right. I was nervous because if he stayed that way for too long the doctors were going to have to try to turn him one way or another themselves, which doesn't sound to pleasing to me. Needless to say this was a big deal to me to find out that his head is down and bum up! I also found out that I have pregnancy induced carpel tunnel. I guess it's semi-common and it will go away shortly after little man is born. I also got a lecture on the importance of continuing to drink a lot of water (my fingers are starting to swell!) so now I will be carrying around my water bottle everywhere. I thought I had been doing very well with that, but apparently I was wrong. Everything else is looking really good I'm measuring right on track so for those of you considering going in on the upcoming baby pool keep that in mind.

Which brings me to my next thing. Jason had his meeting with his site coordinator and the other KCOM students this week and two of them gave him money for the baby pool. We had discussed doing one, but never really decided for sure if we wanted to go through the hassle of organizing it or not. I guess now that we are already getting money before we have everything organized we are going for it. We are going to do $1 for a two hour time slot the winner gets half of the money and the other half with go in Little L's college fund (that's right we are already thinking about his college fund!). So watch out of the post on pool so you don't miss out on a fun opportunity.

In other news Jason is doing very well. I think he's really getting ready to be done with this part of medical school. I know he's been feeling a little blah continuing with clinical rotations since March of last year, but he's been doing a good job of pushing through. The residency match is quickly approaching and he has to submit his rank list next week on Friday. I think we have it figured out what order we want to put everyone, but you never know with us lol. We have received some positive feedback from two of the locations for sure so I'm pretty sure they will be ranked high on our list. Once the match list is submitted then we wait....and wait.....and wait until Feb. 11th that's when we find out if we matched and on the 13th we find out where. I told Jason the stress of those few days is probably going to push me into preterm labor! So fingers crossed that we match and that Little L stays put until closer to his due date.

Cooper is doing very well. He had a wonderful time at Doggie Day Kamp while Jason and I went home for the holidays. Apparently while he was there he made a new little friend Lilly, so when we came to pick Cooper up he had to first go by her kennel and tell her good-bye. It was probably one of the cutest things that I have ever seen! He was pretty mellow the first week back at home. I think he was worn out from all the running and playing he got to do at Kamp. Now however, he is back to his normal self. I think he knows that big changes are coming and he's not going to be getting as much attention because he has been following Jason and I around everywhere we go and has been a little naughty too! I hope that this is only temporary and once the baby is here he will mellow out once again.

Well that's about all that's happening in our family! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday and are staying true to those New Year's Resolutions!
